Risk Management Lawyer

DAC Recruitment are currently partnered with an excellent private practice who are hiring a Risk Management Lawyer. In this role you will be working closely with a range of groups across the department. Most interestingly this opportunity to work full-time, part-time or flexibly within a leading hybrid working model.

Responsibilities

The position will involve a broad range of responsibilities including:         

  • Proactively identifying, updating and drafting relevant risk related policies and key legal documents and templates
  • Reviewing new and pending relevant legislation and guidance notes, and analysing their impact on the firm
  • Providing support, education and risk management training for staff to build a strong risk management awareness within the firm.
  • Liaising with the Law Society and LSRA on regulatory matters including professional standards, compliance and ethics
  • Heading up the Data Privacy Team – managing/ co-ordinating the processes relating to data privacy matters
  • Organising and vice-chairing all risk management committee meetings
  • Assisting the Director of Finance and Administration in administering the Firm’s PII cover
  • Managing the Firm’s risk registers 
  • Participating in projects which require a risk and compliance input
  • Dealing with all relevant risk issues/queries that arise within the firm
  • Assisting in preparation for Law Society audits, if and when required

The Candidate

The successful applicant will be a senior qualified lawyer with proven experience in a large corporate environment and/or PSL with relevant experience working for a high-profile organisation with 5 years+ experience. Ideally, the candidate will have strong organisational and interpersonal skills as well as a disciplined ability to document work, prioritise own tasks and manage time effectively.

Required Experience 

  • Previous relevant experience in a similar role in a professional services/partnership environment would be a distinct advantage
  • An understanding of the PII regulations would be of assistance

Salary will be commensurate with experience.
